Trident University International

I have been a student in the PhD program for at about 3 years and am now in the dissertation phase. While taking the core courses online I received a lot of support. However, when you reach the dissertation phase you receive limited support from your committee. This is not the type of school I recommend to anyone. There have been at least 3 program directors since the time I started. Take my advice and head for the hills and don't look back.

I just finished my degree a few weeks ago, and had no financial aid problems nor advisor issues encountered. They respond quickly to your concerns. The case assignments and session long projects are challenging and definitely requires effort from your end. No spoon feeding. This school is highly recommended for military families who are most likely go through moving a lot. I'd highly recommend this regionally accredited school.

I had a great experience! I graduated in 18 months with a Masters in Health Science. The advisors were supportive and whenever I called or emailed my questions were always answered. Everyone from the financial aid office to the registrars worked hard to answer every question or respond within 24 hours. All of the instructors (except for one in my opinion... Dr. Peter Haried) were very fair. Each provided constructive feedback and timely grading so that you would know how to improve. I graduated with a 3.9, receiving an A in all classes except for one. I would definitely recommend Trident University International as a great place to continue your education for any working professional. Although the majority of the students were from the military, it was a great experience for me, a civilian.

I have taken classes in different university and colleges due to the constant moving. I have been with Trident University International for five and a half years. I have completed my BSBA in Government Accounting and Contract Management and now I am completing my Masters in Leadership. I have read the other reviews and I noticed that people said that the only material they school give is youtube videos, this is far from the truth. The students have access to more than ten different online libraries including Proquest, Barnes and Noble and others, which you can save and/or print (depending on the source). The videos are recommended for those who learn by visual instruction. Personnel/Staff - if you have any issue with someone and you let the Chief of the department they will resolved it in 24 hours. I had three issues, including the first advisor assigned to me for my Masters that was rude. I contacted the previous advisors and she talked to the Chief of that department. In few hours the new advisor called me and give me the ins and outs to complete my Master degree. No only they resolve the situation they took care of the issue and rectified the situation. For my Bachelor I have the same advisor for 4 years and she was wonderful. The advisor for my Master, she is also wonderful and knowledgeable. No matter that I have encounter with my medical challenges, they were there for me, supporting me to complete my degree. The classes are not that easy how people posted here, you need to read, research, and be eloquent at the time preparing your work. In total, from my four schools I have gone to, this one is the best. Bottom Line: This is an accredited university; 100% online! If you need a degree to advance in your job and a degree from ANYBODY will do, then this is a school for you. If you need “Major University USA” on your transcript, then this is not the school for you. My situation: I was in need of a degree from anybody and any program would have fit the bill. I will admit, since it was a virtual, regionally accredited for-profit university I thought I could turn in less than stellar academic work. I was wrong and called out on it by the professor! I started the MBA-HR program when the university was called Touro University. Since completing my degree I am considered a graduate of an MBA program, have been accepted into several career enhancement programs, promoted several times and was able to use my degree and work experience to become a well-compensated HR official. The school was not a waste of my money or time as I have earned three-fold over since completing my degree.

This "University" and I use the term loosely is both a joke and a waste of money. They claim to provide all of the materials needed for the courses you take however they fail to mention that the course materials include wikipedia and youtube videos. Neither of which are considered academic references to any another accredited university or college. I would call this a google degree because I spent more time googling the answers than I did using the materials provided. I emailed my professor 3 times during a 6 week class and never heard back from her. She only had 2 jobs grade the work and respond to emails. Seeing that she does not spend anytime actually teaching or instructing anyone.

Trident University International was a GREAT experience I completed my BSBA in 2010 while I was working a Department of Defense (DoD)position as a GS-05. As soon as I completed my BSBA I was offered an Intern position that I accepted with an agreement to complete my MBA within 3 years. With the help of Trident and the staff members I was able to complete my MBA in 2013. I am currently waiting to graduate from DoD Copper Cap Intern Program in 2016 that will put me into a GS-11 position permanently.Because of Trident University International, the materials and overall support to help me learn, organize, focus and complete my degree I am able to advance in the DoD Acquisition Career Field. The materials Trident offered were perfect for this career. I highly recommend Trident to anyone who plans on working for DoD or any other federal or state agency.

This was a colossal waste of time in terms of the quality of the education. Here is the positive, the only positive, it is regionally accredited. That being said, I was able to take my worthless BSHS and apply (and get accepted) into a credible state university system for a Masters program. I started with Trident, back when it was Touro. I took a class and ended up being deployed half way through. They were kind enough to allow me to withdraw, without any financial obligations. Several years later (about 4 years), I retook the class. The background readings, labeled as current, were exactly the same as they were 4 years prior. In fact, not a single aspect of the course or materials changed in that time. Further proof of the inadequacy of the program, I spent an average of one hour writing each of my essays. My overall GPA, 3.8. I spent less than 12 hours TOTAL on an entire course and never received a grade lower than 3.0. This would be fine, for the lazy, if the degree mattered. I used to put the degree on resume, until I started to notice I received more job offers when I submitted a resume without the degree listed. After several interviews, I found the interviewers looked at the degree negatively. ALL IS NOT LOST! Some schools will allow you transfer in credit from Trident. If you have already started, apply to a state university. Many, most in fact, state universities have 100% online schools. Their degree programs are legitimate and employers will view them as an asset. Avoid TUI.

I completed an MBA (Logistics) with Trident University and started an MSL program with them. If I had to do it over, I would not waste my time and money on this program.

I had a tremendous experience with The faculty and Administrators. I am not sure if the University treat Military students any different, I just this that being in the Military and finishing your Degree at the same time while interacting with our Brothers and Sisters in Arms was an absolute help. It has to be how much you want it and how grateful you are to be able to afford it. You get the same education online without putting up with other peoples quirks. I took a few classes at a reputable brick and Mortar and in one of my classes the one young lady came in the class late for the entire semester and then her demeanor became distracting for everyone, that's when I decided the a traditional education was not for me. I appreciated the help of all of my Professors who was always helpful in pointing me in the right direction to find the answer, most importantly is how much of a dedicated student/human being you are. The key to success is education, volunteerism, mentorship, encouragement. It was not easy but very rewarding so Thanks you Faculty and Staff of Trident University. Joseph Persaud, MBA - Log Mgt. I had a very good exerience at Trident University, and had no financial aid issues. Additionally, the instructors were very helpful, and always responded to my request. Significantly, the program is challenging, and it is not for people that are unmotivated. However, the staff will work with students that have issues that impede their ability to complete the assignments, but most of the research associated with the online format comes from you. No spoon feeding here, and if you are the type of student that is self-motivated, then you will do well here. I was able to complete the curriculm in one year and five months, with nothing but diligent time management, and it paid off with a Summa Cum Laude ranking! You'll do the same if you are serious about the learning experience and have some experience in the health care field. Good luck to all!

I just completed my BSITM after a little over 2 years and i'm glad I chose Trident. Forget all about the negative reviews that you see, its all about what you put into it. My experience with the school had been nothing but pleasant and the staff is top notch. With my extremely busy schedule b between work and home life Trident offered me the flexibility to succeed... and I did! At 42 years old I think I know a thing or two and a Doctorate professor from another school once told me that a "degree is a degree no matter where it came from, what you do with it is all that matters". So if you are looking for a school that will challenge you, I recommend Trident University. Best of luck!

The work is too easy and it is hard to stay focused. The online material is good. The teachers are usually poor and distant or nonexistent. The customer support is only helpful if it is helping themselves.

I am trying amazed with the support they are always on top of it. I wonder about the catalogue changes, as I am one class away from completing my degree program. It's okay I think it will work itself out as it always does. I do enjoy the school as I am also attending another school for another degree. The staff was and still is friendly, and even in brick and mortar schools you get people who can be brash on occasion. Having said that; Trident University continues to meet my needs as a working professional and I hope they will continue to do so in the near future.

I loved this college in the beginning. Now, I feel cheated. The first time I attended, FA screwed up and caused me to have to pay for 3 classes that should have been covered. I fought for about a year and half. After realizing I would lose that argument, I re-enrolled. I tried to switch majors before the cutoff time but my advisor failed to submit my paperwork, failed to add my new classes, failed to drop the classes I didn't need, and left me stuck with 4 upper-level classes in a major I'm no longer interested in.

I was two classes away from completing an MBA in HR and I have walked away from TUI. The only reason this "school" exits is because of the militarys TA program. Cut TA and the post 911 G.I. Bill benefits, and these guys go away. I have stared over a Baylor. Best decision I ever made.

I recently completed the MSHS degree and it took me 32 months. This program was as difficult as comparable programs at brick and mortar State Universities and took about as long. I worked extremely hard and graduated with honors. The professors were thoughtful but did not give away grades, and they do not spoon feed you but were always available to answer questions. The advantages of TUI is relatively low cost and they provide all the learning materials which means no texts to purchase! You can literally go anywhere in the world with a laptop and internet access and complete your degee and pay as you go. My money was well spent!

I just completed the phd program and let me just say it was an arduous but rewarding program. What I have learned is valuable to my next move into the research/teaching paradigm. The skills and knowledge I have ascertain has enhanced my critical thinking acumen and will serve me we'll in the future and beyond. would I recommend this program? Without a question.

The school presents itself as a wonderful one but they make a lot of mistakes, my supervisor wrote English very poor with lots of mistakes, she would forget from one email to another what she had told me and was not consistent. It was a "guessing game" for me totally inconsistent. The courses are easy to do but the dissertation is a trap and a costly one. The online platform is very old and doesn't work, allays full of mistakes and things that do not work. It feels like a business and not a university. I just ow hope the money (huge amount) and time I put into it will be worthy now that I finally got my PhD

Overall, the school met my needs in regards to flexibility and course study. My major issue and I am quite sure this occurs at other institutions was that many professors often took too long to respond back to the assignments submitted. My other issue was with the financial department. Being a veteran of the military entitles members to discounted tuition. I made a point on two occasions to ensure that my assigned academic advisor had a copy of my DD214 for any financial discounts. Not until after I received a different counselor who actually researched the item for me did I find out that I had been paying almost $400 more per course than I should have. This was rectified however I only had approximately five courses left before program completion. The department would not allow me to recoup any of the funds in which I overpaid even though I could supply written documentation of the advisors mistake. I do have to say, the new academic advisor did attempt to assist me as much as possible during the process. Other than that, the coursework did fit well within my schedule and the discussion boards I felt were the best parts of the class. I am in the process of selecting an institution to pursue my doctorate and I have to be honest and say that TUI is not on the list for consideration largely in part due to many of the student ratings that I have viewed of the program I would like to pursue; they are not very favorable in various areas,but particularly in the dissertation phase of the program which to me is the most important phase.

If you had the choice of going/joining a very popular gym like LA Fitness or a less popular local gym (both creditable) and they both offer the BASIC things to get you in shape, which one would you pick? If they both offer the latest most up to date workout equipment and provide safe amenities such as secure parking, lockers and a motivational supportive environment would it be adequate and persuasive in earning the results you are determined to achieve? The difference is with LA Fitness you may have a much nicer and larger facility but also more policy along with cost. You MUST be there at a set time for workout classes or a excellent trainer (this is like physically being in class). Which can be why some people need the interaction and motivation of instructors and peers to succeed. On the other hand the local gym may not have “on-site” trainers/instructors instead they periodically provide guidance to direct you and check up on you to answer any questions and see if your ok. This type of gym may not provide intense weight training or Zumba class’s everyday but it has other people like you who are motivated and willing to share their knowledge of exercising safely and efficiently as well. With this gym it is open 24 hours so you can work out and use resources whenever you like, perfect for the self-motivated and busy life style person. As an example, now think of these gyms as UCLA (LA Fitness) and University of Phoenix (Planet Fitness or similar) or a Ford vs. Lexus, they are both cars and built to do the same thing (get you from point to point) except one has more bells and whistles than the other. My analogy illustrates that no matter what gym (educational institution) you choose if you use it well and you put in the work you will get AT LEAST the same BASIC results out of it but this in itself can be opinion so to each his own. It has been my experience that someone can explain how to do something but YOU have to be the one to do the actual work and that is no matter where you go….online or traditional, Ivy-league or regular school, Chevy or Mercedes not every can afford but considering the (your) situation you do get what you pay for. As a side note even more traditional schools are going online so I believe the quality of education is excellent. So I see now the competition of online learning is the question if one really better than the other? It guess it just depends.

This college is a great institution. The way it is make you do research papers, ensures that you will not forget what you have learned. This is not some i study and take the test and forget school. I was able to be in an environment and hold conversations with people about certain things, that i know in the past i would've just sat there with my mouth closed. Yea i was skeptical also about going to this online school but it is accredited by the WASC just like USC, UCLA and Stanford which or all top notch colleges. This college is legit. So before you down play this institution go your research.

I am currently a student and I am looking elsewhere to complete my degree. It is hard to challenge a grade and so whatever your final grade your professor gives is the final grade is going to be a firm. Even if you think you did great and worked hard, you will not ever get an unbiased third party to review your coursework and re-grade it. So, I advise that you seek elsewhere for your college degree. Also, they don't provide textbooks or enough information to complete case studies effectively.

I have been contemplating writing this review for a long time. Today I decided that it is time to stop procrastinating and maybe help someone else. I have been in the PhD program for the past 4 years. I have finished all the courses and am now working on my dissertation. I would like to share with you a few insights I have now that might have helped me make a more educated decision five years ago when I was looking for a university. 1. The total price of your PhD is not a constant but rather a variable. In my case, the University raised my tuition twice over 4 years resulting in a 40% increase in total price. This is in spite the fact that they specifically assured me that they have no plan to change tuition in the foreseen future. Naturally, after I had started, I could not change course. 2. The time frame of your PhD is also flexible and not necessarily in a good way. While the rate of your courses is up to you, once you get to the stage of working on your dissertation, you are in the hands of your committee. In my case, I can report that the pace is unbearably slow. On average, I invest about 3 days of work for every month of waiting for feedback. If you are not in any kind of hurry, that might be fine. If on the other hand you have other things you would like to do in your lifetime, this pace is not beneficial to your mental or financial health. 3. The dropout rate is very high. Although it is difficult for me to assess exactly what the rate is because people take courses at a different pace, I can none the less tell you that in the first courses we had 15 to 20 students yet at the finish courses we were only 3. Besides for being lonely at the top, it is also disconcerting to learn that in retrospect your statistical chances of making it to the end are not good at all. You could come to the conclusion that this is proof that the process is serious and rigors. You could also arrive at other conclusions. I will let your imagination wander… 4. Although almost all the professors I have been in contact with over the past 4 years have been courteous and helpful to some degree, I have had more than a few situations where I got the feeling that my success at achieving the goal of attaining a PhD, was not very high on the list of - Turo International / TUI / Trident – objectives. I am not saying that they were interested in me NOT finishing my degree. It was more a flavor of indifference. When comparing this attitude with what I heard from my friends in other PhD programs at other universities, I know that this aspect leaves much to be desired. All in all, I have learned an unbelievable quantity of stuff. I also have no doubt that much has been accomplished. On the other hand I feel that the path was not what I had expected. Hopefully I will reach the finish line in my lifetime and maybe I will update this review then. In the meantime, I am left wondering whether looking back, I would do it all again.

I completed their BSHS. As a wife, mother, and Soldier it worked for my demanding lifestyle. I sometimes wonder if I made the right decision. When I tell people I received my degree from Trident they look at me as if I'm speaking a foreign language. You definitely get what you give. You basically teach yourself the content via research and background readings. If you aren't self-motivated this school is definitely not for you. I want to do their MSHS, but I'm concerned about how it will be accepted in the civilian sector. I prefer online learning because of its portability, but I'd like to go to a "traditional" school.

I've been working on my PhD and very close to finishing now. I graduated from undergrad and grad programs from brick and mortar schools in the top 5% of my graduating classes. I chose TUI because I work full time and couldn't afford to stop my life for a few years to get a doctorate. What I learned is immeasurable and the skills I can apply to work and enhance my career. I have only good things to say about this school.

Material: Its available, there is mandatory materila and suggested material. If you complete everything, you will learn. Teachers: Some are good, some are great, it all depends on you. You feed them educated information, you will get educated responses. All that i have had have PHDs not from TUI, and seem to have exceptional resumes. Institution: Ask yourself what you want out of an online university, being in the military i have attended a total of six Colleges, i setted on TUI because of flexibility, availability and a sense that the staff cares. Support: Sometimes i get emails asking questions or giving me information, the same inforamtion that i have gotten from others, it seems like they aren't communicating sometimes, but i have always got good and the right informaiton and communication. Value: Its not cheap, its not expensive. However, just before graduation they raised prices above the military tuition assistance caps. Use of Technology: They have a fairly nice online setup to include outlook mail. Overall: It is perfect for my career, schedule and finances. Like i said before, i have attended a total of 6 Colleges, t his one fits perfect for me. Just make sure you do ALL the work, not just required work and you will get allot out of each course.

I will never attend this college again total nightmare. They are very slow with everything. No books all you do is write papers. I did not learn anything attending school here. If you are lazy this is the place to be. The school sets deadlines for assignments but they actually give you to the end of the semester which is astonishing. I worked hard to get all my assignments in on time then you have others who turn in work late with no repercussions. If you want to be prepared for your career and be knowledgable please do your self a favor and go to another college.

This is a very good school. I see a lot of posts that there are not enough instructors for the courses. How many instructors does someone need for each class? I agree that you get what you put into each class. If everyone hasn't realized, taking classes online is the way the majority of colleges are going. Any question that I have asked the instructor was answered in a professional and timely manner. They are flexible with everyone's busy schedule. I always recommend this school to anyone continueing their education.

I was researching this school for my daughter. We did not enroll her. The *Admissions* person we spoke with on a few occasions, was very unprofessional, and did not seem to know anything. He sounded very uneducated and kept trying to get other information out of me--that made me very uneasy. I felt very skeptical of this school. There was always lots of other *noise* in the background as if this was a *call center*. The two times we set up a phone appointment, he called 1.5 hrs late. Very unprofessional. Do lots of research before deciding.

I finished my MBA degree in spring of 2012. The coursework is challenging and the basic MBA concepts seem to be in the curriculum, but I agree with many others that web links cannot replace text books. So many times I wished for a text book; however, most of the time you can find what you need online. Just be careful to use reputable sources. The instructors are a joke. Only one instructor, out of all my classes, took the time to answer my questions with any substance. The rest seem to have a universal canned-response list from which they draw. I can get that from a computer program designed to "teach." There were times when I would attempt to expand on a subject (if for no other reason than to deepen my knowledge) and I may as well have been talking to the dogs next door. I would send questions to teachers and never, ever receive a response, so I just had to move on and figure it all out. You do get the distinct feeling that some of the instructors don't even read your work. Text book and teacher issues aside, you can, in the end, obtain a passable understanding of business concepts. But only if you take the assignments seriously and do entirely original work, like I did. Attempt to understand all of the lesson plans on a deep level and you will walk away with basics you need to operate in the real world. But don't expect your knowledge level to be on par with someone who graduated from a top-tier, on-the-ground business school. It won't be, trust me. As far as the student body, you won't be surrounded by geniuses. The admission standard is about as low as it can be for an accredited school. I know from experience that this factor drives down the quality of education. Most people who attend this online school are not interested in deep thinking (although some are). Instead, they are everyday, practical-thinking people who only want to make it through the day (or lesson) and move on. Bottom line, don't expect to have any deep, barrier-expanding discussions in the online forums. 90 percent of the posts made in the forums are useless; mere rehashes of lesson concepts already covered. Overall, as a square-filler, this degree will work in many circles of employers. For some employers, you won't get in the door if where you got your degree matters to them. On the bright side, you will, like I stated before, significantly increase your understanding of business if you follow the lessons and immerse yourself in the subject matter (which is what the school intends for you to do anyway).

The sad fact is some people are not cut out for college, consider dropping out of TUI a blessing and move on. Everything is not everyone else s fault - take responsibility for what you do and keep the insults local where they should be. REALITY: For the potential MBA students out there (like me), I checked and they did not lose their regional accreditation. BUT they did appear to have some issues that are getting attention since the regional accreditor's website downgraded the severity of their inquiry.

I just completed my BSBA with TUI and I will tell you that I learned alot. I really got a since of accomplishment because I had to put in a lot of work to finish with a 3.72 GPA. The courses are definitely "failable" if you don't take the time to research and turn in quality work. This school is great because it gives those of us defending the country so that others can attend ivy league schools an opportunity to get a quality education from an regionally accredited school. I don't know about anyone else but I EARNED my bachelors from TUI and I'm proud of the goal I've met while defending this great country. Thanks TUI.

I have had a mostly positive experience with this school. I agree with a lot of previous posts who say you get out of it what you put into it. I have learned a lot here. I went to a traditional school for my bachelor's and I believe I get more out of TUI's program. Also, the graduate certificate I earned in instructional design qualified me for the Air Force GS-12 civil-service position I am now in. I will say that I, like many people, was a little concerned with the whole accreditation debacle. I and am still somewhat uneasy about it, but I do feel like they were transparent and forthcoming while dealing with it and I remain confident that they won't have those problems again. The only two concerns I have are regarding the course material. I will agree with the reviewers who say that there is much to be desired in this area. I personally think TUI should have an on-line e-book store so students have some solid references while taking courses. The links to free internet sites are OK as supplemental sources, but there should be textbooks (e-books). If anything, it would give students a better foundation of the various topics before venturing out into the virtual databases. Second, there are numerous grammatical/spelling errors through out the course material. I have addressed this every session, but it does not seem to change. Why is this? Despite those two concerns, my TUI exerience has been very positive and I would recommend it to others.

If all you want is a degree with no benefit go for it. A for effort is the motto. Switched to a real school and took 3.5 months for them to release the transcript. Almost kept me from being able to attend new school. They barely kept their status as an accredited school by the skin of their teeth. Do not attend unless you are just checking the box.

Honestly, this school is like any other school you attend. Whether its Cal State Fullerton, UCLA etc. You get what you put into it. I feel the emphasis is placed quick to the point, which is fine with me. Saves me time. Alot of my peers earned their degrees from big universities, Oklahoma State University, Washington State, etc. when I ask them if they recall what they learned most of them say no. So in a sense, I think placing an emphasis on the main subject will help retain the knowledge learned. It helps me thats for sure. The timelines, the assignments are perfect for a working adult, or military like myself. I have attended other online colleges and I can attest that its quite difficult being in the military and taking college at the same time. But with TUI, its actually possible to accomplish a degree, sure it won't be a "brand" name like other schools but an accredited degree is better than no degree in this age in time.

I will honestly tell you guys the truth. I was at my last term at this school and didn't finish because they said I didn't take out any loans that was supposed to pay for my tuition while I was attending. I was a transfer student and always have used student loans to pay for my education Now owe them $3,500.00 which have damage my credit rating. I am a college student I don't have a job. good news i am now attending a local real university and graduating this December had not any problems with my student aid ......HINT...go to real accredited university.

I have a BA and an MA from two of the toughest schools in the nation. Soon beginning the dissertation stage of my PhD in Higher Ed Leadership. I can tell you point blank that if you follow the program and do as you are requested, you will work you butt off. The program is rigorous, the professors are excellent (had only one who was so so) and you have to produce at a high level or you will not get through the program with a decent GPA. Many brick and mortar schools would be proud to be half as good as TUI.

I liked this school it served me well. I do find it strange that some comments, especially the negative ones seem to be written by the same person. This school has graduated many individuals; just because one person is angry doesn’t mean the school should be dismissed in its entirety.

I took 2 classes and being in the military didn't help. Due to current ops I wasn't able to complete some of the assignments since I wasn't able to "interview" someone in the field of nursing. I emailed both professors and after 4 weeks got a reply. I wasn't able to complete the course and am trying to get a "try again" thru them. The material on the cd's was horrible...just links, no material. Seriously?? Come on I don't always have access to the internet and would like to read out in the field. Also the navigation through their site was garbage. Won't take another class through them again. For Profit = Garbage. DeVry was the same way.

The course assignments apparently are written by people in some foreign country where English is not the native language. Such concepts of "subject" and "verb" apparently are not important enough to incorporate in the material. Unless you are clairvoyant it is impossible to know what you are required to do to complete your assignments. Perhaps they are relying on the fact that most of the students are military and thus used to following blindly the incomprehensible orders of idiots. Unless you speak ebonics or comprehend pidgin English, AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!

This school is nothing but a joke. It has an excellent marketing department that will fool you to thinking it's a real school. Bottom line - the "professors" that work here are lazy and selfish. They have zero interest in teaching you anything. For only $1400 you get a CD sent to you with a bunch of plagarized material and free internet links. Using all this "great material" you get to write a glorified 4th grade book report. The "professors" then give you the rubber stamp "A" that they are directed to give out. NO ONE WILL FAIL, or get below a "B". Do not be fooled by the sneaky salesmen. This school only wants to make money for its' parent FOR PROFIT company. There is no desire for this school to be more educationally desirable. It recently got its' WASC accreditation threatened, and now is on probation. Its' slimy sales "professors" are telling everyone TUI is working towards its' AACSB accreditation (a BALD FACE LIE). Bottom line --- if you are enlisted in the armed forces you are free money to TUI, and then send their slimey scum to try and convince you that you need this crappy education. You won't learn anything you can't get by surfing the interent about let's say an "MBA". That's all TUI did. It is a SAD state of affairs. This school is SCUM through and through. It's also furloughing professors and full time staff on Fridays (not enough suckers buying their product). Go to a community college or a high school or anywhere else. Even go to UOP. TUI is plain crap. Just trying to be real.

The staff is lazy and everyone give conflicting information. The one student one stop and FA are the worst. You have to call again and again before you can get the right answer. And for a 1000 dollars a class they should offer book not links to web pages that have nothing to do with the class or assignment.

I am employed at an executive level and am no slouch, have earned only one C in my undergraduate work at another regionally accredited school, no C’s in my Masters Degree at yet another regionally accredited school, and am working very hard to get through the Trident University International Ph.D. program which is extremely challenging. There aren’t many of us left. People who were able to earn Masters degrees just couldn’t transition to more demanding rubrics. The program is rigorous, yet the staff are very supportive. I wouldn’t trade this experience nor what I am learning for anything in the world. There is not anything you could post on the Internet that some are not going to love and someone else hate. The only cost of blogging is your time and some folks just have an axe to grind. A Trident Ph.D. is a great value, but is not cheap in terms of required time and commitment. I can’t speak for Trident’s undergraduate nor other graduate programs as I have not had the pleasure of having attended them.

After taking two classes and reading the caliber of mandatory 'posts' from these so-called screened students - I must say, this school is for the unwashed / uneducated masses that think they need this sort of education. The 'teaching' that goes on is sub-standard to super poor. The assignments are book-reports that are graded too easily (I tested - several times - these professors with my own 'easter eggs' in the papers. Bottom line - they don't read the papers and give out Bs or As). The material given is an absolute J O K E. Also, the credibility of this degree is in SERIOUS question. I have several peers that completed this 'Education' and have not been able to get through promised 'doors' Trident's evil marketing team sells. Unfortunately this school is a bottom feeding for-profit (making a lion share of it's money from the government/military). AVOID at all costs. Your local community college is cheaper and gives you a better education (I've tried both Trident and CC -- it is a fact). If you want a degree handed to you for no effort, and minimum learning, Trident is the way to go.

I keep seeing people say that this school is not recognised by professional certifying bodies and have to think these posts must be made by other schools or by people who have failed out. I had an MPH from another institution and applied to become CHES through NCHES and was told that I lacked enough background courses in the field. I promptly enrolled in and completed Tridents graduate certificate program and passed the CHES exam the first time out. This lead to my current position as a Health Educator. I am now taking the PHD program at Trident and it is NOT easy. Some classes have been A's, some A-, and some B's depending on how well I do the assignments.

I have read many reviews posted in this site and I cannot comment on those with a different experience than me, but this is how it went for me: a. Perfect opportunity to finish a college degree while working and taking care of family b. The price was right c. The "road to success" degree plan meet my timeline expectations d. The use of the Internet emails and even some "Skype" with some other students to discuss points of view was impressive. e. The college is accredited f. English being my second language, it improved dramatically my reading and writing skills Was is easy?, no…it's all about personal discipline, time management and perseverance. I even had a discrepancy with a Professor about a grade vs. his review comments; but it got all sorted out after a mature conversation between us. I had mentorship along the whole course, but I had to ask for it… Today I have a job in the area of study and I make 6 figures….go figure!!!!! So, was it worth it?….absolutely!!!!!

Good school but not for everyoneas that is the case with any school. I enjoyed not having to order books but the research is intense and the faculty gives great feedback. Was affordable and met my needs as I work full time. I hope they keep the current platform and gets better as an instituition while on probation. Graduated Winter 2012

This school only wants as many customers as possible. They keep bugging me daily to "recommend all my friends". I'm not sure that real schools do that.. Unfortunately these for profits are exactly that. I really can't recall what I learned because this school gives you zero materials and free links off the Internet to study. It is a real scam. Also it's still under probation n it's accreditation. For profit greed strikes again. If I could do it all over again I would have gone to a community college followed by a state school. Don't enroll here unless you have no other options.

I have taken classes at mulitple universities, both in traditional and online formats. TUI is clearly not a school to attend if one does not like writing research papers. The robust learning modules force one to research, comprehend, and logically present concepts. Some of thier classes force one from the realm of conceptual learning to live hands on practicums that I have never done in other institutions of higher learning. If someone has a problem with the school or faculty here, they probably would complain about any institution. I did notice in the past couple of years the classes have become tougher. Not to mention names but two major schools I attended in Colorado, required much less effort to complete courses. I am very pleased with the experience and professionalism of the staff. I surpised at the quality of instruction and level of learning.

This school "sells" Graduate Certificates. Two in particular are 'Quality Management with Six Sigma Black Belt' and 'Project Management'. If you want to pass the American Society of Quality (ASQ) Black Belt exam (the gold standard in business) or the Project Management Institutes (PMI) PMP exam, TUI will do absolutely ZERO to prepare you. You'll write a bunch of worthless papers for TUI, and literally get a 'graduate certificate' in the mail that isn't even on 24lb paper (my sixth grade attendance certificates were literally higher quality). I've done these certs, and Villanova cert online. Villanova kicks TUI's butt (Villanova deliberately teaches you with lectures, workbooks, posts, live interactions and tests -- preparing down the road to pass a certification exam). TUI does not. Buyer beware - TUI puts on a great marketing scam - Dr. Gold and his retired military cronies will 'sell sell sell' to the TUI 'community of learners'. This flashy marketing and scummy 'chummy' practices of buddying up with the war wounded is fleecing America. Go ANYWHERE but this school. IT RECENTLY HAD ITS WASC ACCREDITATION THREATENED, it is now under PROBATION. ALSO, IT IS NOT AACSB ACREDITED - not accredited by the gold standard of business accreditations. Buyer beware.

Trident has helped a lot of professionals including myself that have family and work to deal with obtain a quality education without breaking their pockets and grossly disrupting their lives. I work hard on every paper I write and I feel I get the grades I deserve. Maybe some people turn in garbage and get a break--I dont know, but I know I try to get the most I can from the curriculum that is offered so I will be that much more prepared when I enter the business world. It seems that everyone is down on this school because people are not failing out by the droves. So what? And now Trident has been removed from Show Cause status and will likely remain fully accreditted by WASC- the only WASC accreditted online school BTW. So my point is this, if it makes you feel more important that you go to a school that you have to pay 50K to complete and that you probably can't pass, knock yourself out. But dont knock this school especially since the school is a major supporter of those who are serving the country so that those IVY leaguers can go get their uppity diplomas.

I have completed all course work and am slated to receive my MSHS with a Public Health emphasis. I would recommend Trident University to my colleagues. I have been changed by attaining the goal but feel the course content has been the real value. I have been impressed by the quality of the programs professors and their various backgrounds. The biggest compliment I can offer is that I WOULD do it all again!

First of all, I had a rewarding experience with TUIU and can honestly say getting my MBA (July 2010) helped me get my current job as a branch chief in a major accounting firm. So to say a degree from here doesn’t mean anything or is worthless doesn’t fly. I can also attest that not every assignment was an automatic “A” just because you turned in some words on paper. Sure some of the profs graded harder than others and the amount of positive and negative feedback received from them varied, but I felt okay with the grades I “EARNED”. Don’t know if my classes were exceptions, but the interaction between students was very beneficial. I found that some of my fellow classmates were struggling to get “Cs and Bs” and often asked for help and advice, which many of us were more than happy to help with. There was one post on here earlier that made the military students out to be ignorant high-school dropouts. I can say with much certainty that is not the case at all. Many of my military friends already had degrees and used TUIU to complete their MBAs. I finished both my BSBA and MBA through Touro University and TUIU, but prior to starting I had previously completed all of my basic education requirement classes through a host of local and community colleges and universities while on active duty. Whatever the outcome of the accreditation review, I hope Trident gets it worked out.

Completed my BSBA with Trident University international and they are very good. I have attended many colleges while in the military but have had never seen a school so committed to their students. They are regionally accredited through WASC ( I'd read enough horror stories to stay away from national accreditations) They are also in the process of getting their AACSB accreditation.

Some will argue they are only out for profit (isn’t every other university). If you show up and turn in your assignments, you will pass the class. Some people really cannot get pass their own personality/limited experience to understand the “big picture”. Money, Money, and Money! My family all graduated from OU and I started their too. I can honestly say, I learned more with TUI then at the bigger more expensive campus. Each person has their own opinion or choose to follow someone else opinion.

I am currently in the middle of my MAEd Training & Development program at Trident. My experience has been characterized by top-notch support and services by my academic advisor, financial aid, the registrar, and the IT department. The vast majority of my inquiries have been responded to within a few hours, a day at the very most. I have never experienced rapid turn-around like this with any other for-profit or nonprofit college or university. Trident's instructors are facilitators and motivators for self-directed adult learners, whereas brick and mortar instructors tend to be more or less lecturers for rote learning and teach to the test. I remember absolutely nothing from traditional classroom methods, but with Trident's modular format I retain most of it due to self-directed research in case studies and session-long projects and then writing two papers every two weeks which solidifies learning the subject matter for me. In addition, what I have learned thus far has provided great insight on how to improve training issues in my employment. I interrupted my MAEd program in late 2011 and enrolled at a nonprofit state brick and mortar university for the January 2012 semester because they offered an online degree program that I had been looking for for a long time. Unfortunately, I was so sick when the semester started I was not able to even look at a computer much less be engaged in a learning process. The instructor of one of my courses was totally inflexible in granting an extension and my options were to either withdraw or fail. I withdrew and returned to Trident because the instructors here have all been very flexible in meeting the needs of adult learners, such as permitting a late submission when life happens. All things considered, Trident offers the best learning platform for me. However, Trident is probably not the best school for one who is not a highly motivated, mature, and self-directed learner. I also completed my MBA at TUI in 2009, and would offer that not all programs are equal. The MBA didn't really resonate with me even though my bachelor degree was a BSBA and my employment background is all business. The MBA, from my viewpoint, was geared more so for big business, Wall Street types, and I found no real application for the types of businesses where I live in rural Arizona. The MAEd Training & Development degree program, however, has been very applicable to real life for me.

I'm very pisssed off with this school.Before staring taking courses with this school the Army Education Advisor said she has always had problems with this school but overall it's ok. So I decided to try the school. I was giving a degree plan of the required course's to take and order to graduate, after over a year taking all the courses and meeting core requirements 2 months later I'm told that I still need to take a course because it was not noticed during my degree plan. this school has really provoing to me their all about taking money from military students.No one return my calls or emails about this and I still don't have my degree.

I posted couple weeks ago. I was looking up some resources for one of the case studies and came across Brainmass.com. The module assignments appear to be copied and pasted directly from this site. For these classes to be taught by P.H.Ds, I have never seen so many grammatical errors and typos. I guess that happens when you copy and past in a hurry. The Professor just sent an email apologizing for the confusion because he forgot to change the company to the one we were analyzing. Of course I put a search in and it led me straight to the brainmass page with the same info...word for word

This school has it's weird following of high school dropouts / barely passed that joined the military. All of a sudden, these misfits are getting straight A's from TUI, and think that they are geniuses. What they fail to realize is this school is a FOR-PROFIT, out to exploit, fleece, plunder and depredate military educational benefits. And they do this by suckering these less fortunate [people] (that have educational benefits). This schools beloved WASC regional accreditation is threatened by WASC; TUI is going to lose it in March 2012. Also, this school is not AACSB accredited in its "business" program (basically this gold standard accrediting organization wouldn't dare get TUI stink on it). STAY AWAY. This school's motto "If you pay, you get an A". The education is substandard. I was challenged more in my 8th grade Algebra course than I was in the Masters level "Business Capstone" course, which was a complete joke. Schools like UOP, TUI, Ashford, Capella and the like are the bloodsuckers of the education world. The "pin worms" of societies crap. GO TO A STATE SCHOOL OR A COMMUNITY COLLEGE, they have more credibility in the real world. Schools like this will hurt your reputation and résumé. Don’t let their snake-oil salesmen PhDs tell you otherwise.

I began classes with TUIU back in August 2010. I am scheduled to finish my degree in March 2012. I agree with many who have stated previously that you definitely get back what you put into it. I read a complaint about having to write too papers. Obviously someone didn't research the curriculum because it clearly states there are no tests/quizzes. I got my Bachelor's Degree from Embry-Riddle and and I kind of wish I stuck with them but I didn't want to come out of the pocket. I have learned a lot though. I attended traditional classes at University of Maryland and I can't tell you I remember much. I do have a problem with overall support. I actually went and bashed TUIU on their Facebook page because I couldn't get anyone to call me back. Student Services says you have to get Academic Advisor permission to enroll in the Capstone course but I don't even know who that is. I asked the person they referred me to, what I needed to do to apply for graduation and she referred me to someone else who told me if would take 2-3 months after I complete my last course to confer my degree. Really?

People putting down this program obviously don't understand self directed learning. If you want spoon fed lessons go to a brick and mortar school and pay $85K. If you are motivated and driven to learn this is an excellent program. As with anything, you get what you put into it... so look in a mirror. Talk to a few other MBA grads about their experience, especially when they were just trying to get through, they min ran their programs as well and skate with the degree while paying a ton of money. If you are looking for preparedness, a degree only leads you, it is on you to do the rest.

This school gave me a MBA - plain and simple. It was just easy book reports on what I found on the Internet. My average grade for not really trying was an A-. I feel woefully underprepared for the business world, and can't recall what I really "learned" at this for-profit school. It's not even AACSB accredited (therefore disrespected in the real world). I should have gone to a state school, cheaper and actually accredited (probably would have learned something too). Stay away. The for-profit madness has hijacked education and taken it to a new low.

I don't have a problem with online schools. I do have a problem with a so-called computer science program without basic foundational courses. Computer science programs should include calculus, discrete mathematics, data structures, and several others not included in TUI's program. If you want to go on to graduate school for computer science, this school will not prepare you. Look for a school that follows the recommendations of the ACM or is ABET accredited. I feel that there is very little actual computer science being taught at this school, and the fact is, the math courses they do require are waived if you have an AAS from the CCAF (which only requires 3 credits of math). Those classes at Trident are College Mathematics, "Advanced Mathematics", and Basic Statistics. Super easy, non rigorous math classes... With no tests...The thing you will learn here is how to write a paper and how to depend on google to be your guide. Programming classes are application based, and there is little emphasis on CS theory. Course materials are horrible overall, but some courses were better than others. You will not learn low level stuff like assembly, compilers, or even C. You will learn to be an entry level code monkey doing mostly web based apps and no CS grad program will take you without a lot of prerequisites. One thing they do well... Deadlines are flexible.

Professors are great, the academics are up to par and you learn a lot through their teaching methods. The interface is pretty simple to use even for those not computer savvy. I am pleased with my degree program but not the school itself. From financial aid to student services and admissions...they lack communication, don't get your documents processed fast enough and you literally have to email them over and over again to get a response. They are a bit disorganized and that does not make for a student centered organization. I think they need a lot of improvement when it comes to the admissions, registration and financial aid process. I would not be able to recommend this school based on this, there are too many critical errors and procrastination that occurs. If they were to fix these departments so that they serve the students and are more professional in doing so, I may have a change of opinion because the work is challenging and would be worth the tuition if all else was in order.

This is my first course at Trident University, I am enrolled in the MBA program at the University, I have a PHD already from a well recognized university in Virginia. Trident learning experiences teaches real life applications through the case studies and learning plans. I am completely happy that this university will enhance my skill further in the work world. TUI truly is what you make of it, dedicating time, researching the various topics, and applying those concepts to real life situations, you develop growth and maturity within yourself. I am very pleased to be apart of this learning format and TUI as a whole.

Touro, TUI, Trident University (whichever it is now) is a sham. It is essentially a large profit machine that mills out diplomas and pays off retired service generals to legitimize their operations. The entire master's curriculum is centered around CDs and websites recommended by the professors. So a student pays $1,000 per class and in return gets a $5 CD and a couple of source recommendations. That is a master's course??? Then to top it all off the professors do not even read the works turned in. It is possible to submit a completely bogus paper and not only pass but receive a high grade. If you are looking to get a "degree" in order to check a box then this is the place for you. However, if you want an education that can actually enhance your knowledge and looks respectable on paper then try elsewhere. A complete joke.

I have attended Trident University for the past 4 years and it is NOT a degree mill. Just like any other school, some professors/classes are more difficult than others. It worked great for me because I have a family and a full time job. I did the majority of my course work on the weekends and evenings. Each course is broken down into 5 “modules”. For each module, you get background reading materials and then write a paper based on what you read (they call this a “case” study). You then choose a real-life situation and write a paper based on the subject (they call this a secession long project). You do this for all 5 modules-so there is a total of 10 papers for each class. Each paper is expected to be approximately 3-5 pages in length. In addition you must take part in a “threaded discussion” which is like class participation. The professor asks a question specifically about the subject in that module and each student is expected to answer-giving their personal opinion. Everyone in the class sees your response and has the opportunity to follow-up to your response. It was the perfect fit for me.

The courses were interesting and I learned a lot, but when I started talking directly with faculty, I began to lose respect. Perhaps my analytical background overmatched them. It was frustrating when they misunderstood or didn't comprehend what I was talking about. Perhaps this would be a problem anywhere, but I'm not sure of that. The real beginning of the end came when I started receiving conference programs from AOM and realized that most of the discourse is inside the community and not so much the outside world. If actual businesses pay little attention to what the profession is doing, how relevant is it? There are occasional gems, but for the most part this sector of the academic community speaks only to itself. I lost respect for the field. The actual university is sort of homebrew, some of it excellent, some of it just a cash collection machine.

I am a graduate of the BSCS program and have mixed feelings about what I got from TUI (now Trident). First and foremost, I can truly say that during my 2 year with TUI I most certainly learned the subject material; however, the “school” played little part in my learning other than a broad direction and of course my degree. I have been a hobbyist Java programmer since junior high school and have gradually expanded my knowledge since. Today, I like to classify myself as a Java Rock-Star so when it came to the different CS classes at TUI, I typically had no issues completing the technical assignments. TUI provided little to no “education” as mentioned previously by some of the poster here, they just provide links to other schools & organizations. Ruby on rails for example, is “taught” by having the students simply complete the ruby on rails tutorial given on the RoR website… why on earth should I pay $1200 to learn something that is otherwise free?... For ruby on rails, I actually turned to the UC Berkeley YouTube channel, which provided a much more in depth and world-class introduction to the topic. Secondly, as some have mentioned, the writing criteria at TUI seems to be sub-standard. I am by no means a great or even good writer (one of the reasons I didn’t go to college out of high school). Yet I typically got A’s on essays and research papers that were probably within the realm of a C or maybe a low B (I’ve never been to a brick-and –mortar school so I have no comparison). The one thing that I believe is incorrect in these postings is saying that TUI is “easy” (specifically the BSCS program). The courses were certainly easy for me but that’s due in large part to my past experience with programming (you know one O.O. language you know them all). For a beginner, I feel that these courses may in fact be too difficult, due to the lack of professor-student interaction. On that note, the “threaded discussions” were a joke. I would do a bit of internet research on a given topic (including Wikipedia) and then formulate my own thought and post it as a response. Most of the other student responses however, were literally copied and pasted from the sources I had just read, verbatim! Again, I cannot speak from experience but it seems that any worthwhile CS instructor would catch things like that… Overall, I am happy to finally get my B.S. but as far as career possibilities go, I think the B.S. from TUI alone won’t get me very far. I was lucky enough to get into my current career based on experience alone. I fully plan on applying for a Master’s program this year but it certainly won’t be from an online school. The lucky thing is that TUI is technically still WASC accredited until March, which means that Stanford (The grad school I’m applying to) will accept then as my undergrad. If I am accepted, it will by no means be a result of my “education” from TUI but from my skills in computer science and my experience in the industry.

Trident University is a TOP NOTCH school that allows one to earn their degree by grading their understanding and articulation of the background reading and writing ability and understanding of the subject matter material. One must do their diligent research and be able to articulate an intelligent understanding of this via. Case Studies and Session Long Projects including class discussion or threaded discussions. There are no tests or quizzes. This eliminates the need to memorize useless facts and emphasizes the whole understanding of the subject matter and is graded fairly, accurately and with the application of the appropriate level of difficulty (e.g. Freshman, Sophomore, Junior or Senior). One must demonstrate their own mastery of the material by their own writing ability and be able to articulate this understanding inside 5 modules each with 2 essays and a class discussion (Threaded Discussion).

Outstanding institution. I received either a phone call or e-mail within two hours if I had questions/issues with an assignment. Best faculty and support anyone could hope for in an institution of higher learning. Coursework was challenging and promoted thought. I look foreward to beginning my PhD.

Let's be honest, Trident is an on-line University; however, that doesn't mean you cannot get a formal education, it just takes greater effort, committment and support. If you have a busy life and the traditional "brick-mortar" institutions just don't fit, I highly suggest Trident University. They provided me the avenue to fulfill and life long dream of completing a degree. As a retired Navy Corpsman and from a family of 15 siblings, college seemed a distant dream, but I did it and so can you! I finished my BS in 2005 and my Masters (MSHS) in 2010 and still taking classes!! Excellent learning medium, professional support administratively as well as the Professors. I cannot say enough good things about Trident. Give me a chance, listen to them, listen to me I am a living example that you can do it! I have a GREAT career managing a medical laboratory and my satisfaction level is off the chart! I highly suggest you go to college and if you do give Trident University a call.

Just completing my BSBA from Trident and it was challenging at times and easier at others. It really seemed like it depended on which professor taught the class. They seem to be making efforts to improve and I've been taking classes since 2006. They really work with you to help you accomplish your goals.

Trident University International is the most educational online institution. Everything about the school works for the military student. WARNING!!!!!No books, but that doesn't make it easy. It means you must obtain your own research materials. No tests, tests are replaced by 10 research papers and 5 online discussion threads which the student must participate in, per course. Quite frankly, researching and articulating theories have resulted in deeper learning and understanding for me than just memorizing for a test. This program has taught me how to compose my papers and synthesize my research, ultimately making me a better scholarly writer and preparing me for my next educational program. What can I say about Trident….Challenging school, inexpensive, the faculty and staff are all very educated and invested in the university's success… I cannot say enough about TUI.

I was generally happy with the program. You get out of it what you put into it and it does require discipline. The difference between online education and traditional classroom education is the real life interaction. Technology can help bridge that gap to a degree. Given my career online was the only option open to me. They are serious during the dissertation phase you can't just "wing it" you need to be serious and can't be thin skinned. I was able to get my actual degree from Touro University International which I think improved my chance of using the degree in academia. I think Trident is still establishing itself after the purchase. They are catering to Military groups more heavily now than when I enrolled in 2003. As I said all and all not bad.

I am seeking a different school for the fact they are likely to lose their accreditation and the military no longer acknowledges their degree plans as a means to a commission. Initially I was quite impressed with this University until I tried to transfer my degree to a different Graduate University. Now Trident University International is holding my transcripts hostage. As they face potential loss of accreditation due to poor record keeping the school refuses to forward my transcript as I apply for Grad School. They keep adding schools I have attended to the list of previous transcripts they require in order to release my transcript. Even though they already had on record all transcripts from schools which they transferred in to meet my course requirements for my BSHS degree. I graduated over 2 years ago and now they want me to provide other previous transcripts. They willingly took my fee for the transcript but have continued to delay sending my transcript. I understand the dilemma they have placed themselves in by not requiring this before I enrolled and graduated. But to now hold my transcript hostage as they seek out every student who has attended and try and get all of their previous transcripts is ridiculous.

What can I say about this institution but outstanding! Everything about the program works for the active/military student. The faculty works with your military schedule (late? So what, submit at your own schedule during the course). Fees? As inexpensive as a graduate school can be, truly economical. No books, but that doesn't make it easy. It means you must obtain your OWN research material and do not rely on the course-provided links if you expect to pass. No tests, but that makes it harder, tests are replaced by 10 research papers and 5 online discussion threads which the student must particpate in, per class. If you think writing graduate level papers is easier than taking tests, you're a freak (SMILE). Quite frankly, researcing and articulating theories results in deeper learning and understanding than just memorizing for a test. I still recall many elements of all of my classes at TUI because I had to engage in research for each. This is not easy, especially if you are military or holding down a job because facing a research paper after a long day at work is exhausting. Challenging school, inexpensive, great teachers who work with the students, I cannot say enough about TUI.

I attended TUI for 18 months to finish my BSBA. There are no tests. The course assignments consist primarly of essays, with each class divided into six modules. Each module requires two essays and participation in a threaded discussion. How much you do or do not learn is entirely up to you. If you want to slack off, turn in substandard work and ease through the courses, you can. If you want to thoroughly research your material, write good essays and learn the course material, you can. Instructor feedback isn't usually very good, the course materials tend to be dated, and grades are extremely generous. You can attend this school, earn your degree and learn nothing, or learn everything you need for success. It's your choice, and your responsibility to learn the course objectives.

I was a 2006 PhD graduate. I essentially went full-time for five years. It was the single most challenging thing I've ever accomplished in my life. I my international research has since inspired others. I am a full-time Associate Professor of Business in Texas at a renowned university. Was granted tenure this year. You will only succeed in this method of education if you have self-discipline and a thirst for knowledge. I not only learned a lot about how to research and about my research focus, but I learned a lot about myself. This is no degree mill. The professors are resident at many top universities in the country with a core staff of professors at the central campus. Like any university, I found some courses tougher than others and some professors tougher than others. But overall, I was pretty impressed with the credentials and experience of my professors and the rigor of the academics. While I work full-time at a Texas university, I was invited to teach part-time in Trident University's MBA program and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with my MBA students, many of them deployed military. I maintain high standards and rigor. I've read here that some find they are able to cheat the system. Yes, I've had a few students attempt to submit plagiarized work. Some try, many are caught at it and a few probably even succeed at it. Happens here in Texas where I teach as well. But, students only cheat themselves in the end and I do not see student cheating as a flaw that can be assigned to this university. More a flaw in those particular students. I will be graduating with a ITM degree from Trident. I would recommend the school for anyone looking for a Bachelor or Master degree. The program isn't perfect (what is anymore?) but the program is worth it. My one drawback on the school is that all the reading material is through on-line links and some of the links really did not have a lot to do with the assignment. The school supplied links were usually enough to get you headed in the general direction and I found myself doing a lot of research on my own. But I guess that is what it is all about right? Researching and learning. A certain search website whose name means a huge number became my best friend the last year and a half. All in all it was a great experience.

One comment concerning the Ph.D. Health Sciences dissertation phase. I was unable to complete my dissertation at this university. They refused to allow me to do a case study based on the history of health sciences in the Hebrew Scriptures (Tanakh). Specifically, I wanted to researching the Levitical Code & priesthood in terms of them being the proto-public health inspectors of antiquity. They actually insisted on a it being a researched-based rather than an historical case study. I believe it was due to the fact that TUI was a relatively new school (1998) and they were afraid this type of work might not pass academic muster.

I am in the dissertation phase at TUIU. I must say that I have been pleased with my education, because I put in a lot of time and aimed to learn from the materials. The structure of each course is awesome. However, the quality was sometimes an issue (broken links, typos). I like that the materials get to the point, for the most part. I was only impressed with two professors. However, I have high expectations. If you are the type of student who wants to be given the material, assignments, get in and get out, then TUIU is the school for you. If you need coaching, prodding and handholding, then you may want to look elsewhere. I loved the fact that everyone has to have at least a 3.5 GPA (not 3.0) to be accepted into the PhD program. The students were higher quality and committed. I did not want to take entrance exams, as they do not prove that I can or cannot succeed in the PhD program. Like anything, if you put in the time, READ, do the work, manage your time wisely and strive to earn your degree (not to be given your degree), then you can and do well. TUIU was the right choice for me. It, like any institution, is not for everyone. If you want to learn, you can and will. TUIU is very different from other institutions, personally, but that's the difference that I was looking for. I would hold the value of what I learned in this program up to any other institution and believe that I can compete with the best of the best! You can obtain quality education from “non-name brand” and there is good and bad that can be said about ANY institution. None is perfect and you have to go where you feel most comfortable. Let’s face it, in today’s economy, you must know your stuff to compete, regardless of where you decide to earn your degree. If I had to do it all over again, I would choose TUIU and my dissertation chair, again and again! TUIU has served my purpose and met my needs.

Loved this school. You have to be prepared to read and write. If you are lazy, lackluster, or can't stick to a deadline, then this is certainly not the school for you. If you are on time, a self starter, and are o.k with working autonomously then Trident may very well be the school you are searching for.

The feedback on assignments suck. The objectives of their modules have nothing to do with the assignments given. The online materials are nothing more than links to other college sites or public access sites. No original materials are from this "school" at all. If you want a degree without learning anything....TUI is your school!

Enrolled in MBA, however I'm not sure if I made the right choice. Friends of mine had to go through a very rigorous process to get accepted into their MBA. It was almost too easy at TUI or "Trident". No GMAT. Had a long talk with a headhunter today and they tried to steer me away from this school. Really made me question it, so far it's all essays. Pretty easy, and that sends up the red flag. Guess it depends what you want, an easy degree to "check that box"? I left UOP for those same reasons, people would make fun of them. I will admit the technology aspect is pretty cool.

I just completed my BSCS degree as of the winter of 2011 semester. I have learned so much about programming as well as theory and the newest stuff out there. There is a lot of emphasis on research to keep up and stay current with the latest technology. The last few classes were really big on web services using SOA and ESB, setting up servers and a final project from start to finish, doing actual cost estimations and such. The staff was extrememly patient with me answering all of my questions and sent help and examples to all of my questions. I admit that I had to spend many hours on some classes, but now that I am done, I feel it was worth every minute. TUI is a great school and I recommend it to everyone.

Completed a PhD in Health Sciences from TUI. I have undergraduate and graduate degrees in Nursing from large, well known universities. After completing my degree at TUI I felt prepared to conduct scientific research in my speciality area. A world renowned teaching hospital/university must have felt that way as well. I was offered and accepted a T-32 National Research Service Award (Post Doctoral Research Fellowship). My interviewers were impressed with the coursework and level of rigor at TUI. I made a good decision by attending TUI.

Great school with the exception of writing papers for every assignment. There's more to offer in education besides reviewing websites and writing about a subject. There are a couple of simulations but there needs to be more. The school is great if you don't want quizzes or mid-terms. It's a self-paced school that works great for a hectic schedule. The one thing you will learn... How to type a paper, APA style and the use of great references.

I am one class away from completing my MSHS in Public Health and have had a great experience! Since starting my degree we have moved 3 times, my spouse has deployed for 7 months, and I have had a baby. TUI has been very flexible with working with me when I needed it, all while providing a solid education! They also have a great military discount that is offered to spouses.

Enrolled in TUI at a recommendation from my educational counselor. The content is fairly standard compared to other institutions except the sheer number of papers you have to write - definitely not unexpected from an online college with a good reputation. The only problem I have is with the clarity of student expectations. On a couple of assignments I was graded poorly twice while strictly following directions. Apparently the instructor expected information that wasn't provided in the assignment's description or expectations. This may be small to some, but as my first class taken returning to close my BSCS degree, I'm really put off about continuing my courses at TUI.
